After you scan or open an image into the Rapid Resizer, in step 4, uncheck the Black & White checkbox on the left. In the step where you enter the size, ensure the Line Width option is set to Unchanged.
If your scanned image is black & white before this, then you'll have to rescan and tell your scanner's software to work in color.
